Friday.
We will be busy finishing the last of the Mothers Day orders ready for delivery and collection today. It’s been lovely in the studio this week. Music has been loud, lots of chatting and lots of laughing. It’s been very much needed. Some things are just good for the soul and being creative with flowers is one of them.
Looking back at this bridal bouquet from last week, thinking about the two weddings we have next week. Two very different colour mixes that I can’t wait to see come together.

How is it already Wednesday?
Busy with Mothers Day prep this week plus the painters have just finished in the studio (yes that was cutting it a bit fine this close to Mothers Day)we try to use February as a bit of a “what needs fixing” month but as our wedding season started much earlier this year, we have just had to give them days where we aren’t busy and work round it. Everything looks a bit better for having a refresh!
Cutting garden has also had a huge tidy and everywhere you look there are trays of seeds getting ready to move to the green house.
Feels like Spring.

Still thinking about those little moments from last weeks wedding.
As we had to stay on site to move florals, we got to watch as the couple came down the stairs and into the ceremony room. It’s a privilege to be a part of such moments. That deep breath they take before entering that room. The nervous smiles, the shaky hands as you watch the start of the next chapter in their story. It doesn’t matter how many weddings we see, for each one, these moments are like witnessing real magic.

Finally Friday.
Had the most amazing day yesterday flowering @lanwadeshall for a really special wedding which we will share with you over the weekend. The rain made us change plans last minute as the couple were due to marry in the garden. This is why we always have an alternative plan as the British weather likes to keep us on our toes. A really beautiful day for such an amazing couple.

It’s certainly been cold this week, the studio has felt like working inside a fridge, which the flowers love. I guess it’s just the florists who don’t.

Unbelievably we have a whole weekend off to enjoy. However when we sat and went through our diaries yesterday, we realised it is pretty much our last weekend off until the end of October. Which means for us, wedding season officially starts on Monday. We look forward to taking you with us as we flower our way through 2023, but for today at least, it’s all about coffee and newspapers in front of the fire.

At Clemmie we aren’t really about a big rose flapping about on a lapel, for us a buttonhole is more about smaller details, put together to create something magical. A buttonhole may be small, but it’s the thing that marks your wedding party and brings you all together cohesively.

Speaking of which, it won’t be long until the Sperry is back up and we are flowering again.
We are at Willow Grange a lot this year, with some really incredible installations and colour palettes. As we have said before, we always take a moment to enjoy the flowers, usually with a cup of tea in hand and this is never more beautiful than under those endless blue skies at Willow Grange.
